Choosing a Marquee

Choosing a Marquee

If you’re planning an outdoor event, have you considered using marquees? Both frame-based and pole-based marquees allow you to enjoy the benefits of having an outdoor at home, while being safeguarded from the elements.

Choosing a MarqueeWhen you want to use marquees at home, you could certainly choose to purchase your own unit. Obviously, the biggest drawback would be the staggering cost of doing that. We’d have to host several outdoor events in order for the marquees to pay for themselves, and most of us simply don’t have that opportunity. In fact, we’d likely only need to use the marquee about once or twice a year.

So for the majority of people, the most viable option is to rent a marquee for their homes. When doing that, here are some tips to help you choose the right one:

1. Determine if you need sidewalls.

Sidewalls are necessary if you’re uncertain about the weather on the day of the outdoor event. If you live in the Northern hemisphere, then you likely wouldn’t plan an outdoor event during the wintertime. But if there’s a remote chance that the weather could include wind, rain, and so on, then you should certainly consider having sidewalls to attach to your marquee. You might not need them, but it’s better to be safe than sorry when entertaining guests at your home. You wouldn’t want them to get blown away or drenched, right?

2. Look for the best price.

If you want marquees at home for your outdoor event, then you should search online and offline for the best price. Although surfing the Net will allow you to compare and contrast prices faster, there’s no guarantee that you’ll be able to find the lowest rate online. So to give you the best chance at finding a rock-bottom price, conduct your search online and offline.

3. Get equipment and services from the marquee company.

This can save you a ton of money and hassles, when planning for an outdoor event at your home. From caterers to air conditioning, and from chairs to lighting, many marquee companies can provide everything that you need for you event. If you had to secure the equipment and services on your own, you’d have to spend much more time, money, and effort. That’s a bad thing!

4. Choose the right marquee size.

Each marquee size will have guidelines about how many people it can cover. This includes two figures: the maximum number of standing people it can accommodate, and the maximum number of seated people it can accommodate. But wait-there’s more! When renting marquees for marquees at home, it’s important that you also factor in how much "stuff" will be under the marquee. That can include tables, chairs, and a cornucopia of other items as well. So when determining which size marquee is appropriate for your event, make sure to factor in everything that will be inside it!

For the next outdoor event at your home, you should consider renting a marquee. It can transform a good outdoor event into a fantastic one!
